Do You

have what it takes?

Ghidotti Communications is looking for a Public Relations Specialist who wants to grow quickly, learn across every part of our work and be coached by people who have been doing this for a long time.

You will work side by side with our Media Relations Manager and Account Supervisor, researching industries, building media lists, developing quarterly pitch calendars, finding story angles, writing pitches and, with support, pitching reporters yourself. You will also write blogs and e-newsletters, help build and run social content calendars, and help plan and execute client events.

What

We really want

1.

Someone we can laugh with.

2.

Someone we can depend on.

3.

Someone we can learn from and do great work with.

Who We Hope To Find

This is a development role by design. We are not looking for someone who already has all the answers. We are looking for someone with strong fundamentals, real curiosity and a desire to be coached who wants to build a career in agency work.

The best fit is someone who enjoys variety: several clients, several service lines and a day that rarely goes exactly as planned. If you read the news because you want to, notice stories before other people do and like the idea of learning media relations, content, social and events all at once, we want to talk!

We will train you, but you must come with strong writing skills, a curious nature, a desire to be in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same and a willingness to dive in, take constructive criticism and coaching and grow as a professional.

What You Bring

  • Some experience in a PR agency, in-house communications team or newsroom, including hands-on experience in at least one of the following: media relations, content creation or social media management. Experience in all three is not required, and internships count.
  • Strong writing. You can take a complicated client story and make a busy reporter care about it in three sentences. We will ask you to show us during the interview process.
  • Critical thinking. You can look at a client, a news cycle and a media landscape and tell us which story is worth pitching and why.
  • Quick thinking. Reporters work on deadline, clients call with news late in the day and event mornings move fast.
  • Comfort with and good judgment in using AI tools, or a readiness to learn them immediately. We use Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Agility every day, and the people who thrive here are the ones who direct those tools well and verify what they produce.
  • Working knowledge of AP Style.
  • A habit of following the news daily.
  • A genuine interest and curiosity in business and learning about different industries.

Your Role on Our Team

  • Build and verify targeted media lists
  • Develop quarterly pitch calendars with AI support, then pressure-test them
  • Research client industries and surface story angles
  • Write pitches, media alerts, backgrounders, briefing books and releases
  • Pitch and place stories, with training and backup
  • Write blogs, e-newsletters, website copy and marketing materials
  • Help build and execute social content calendars, and report on results
  • Help plan and run client events: luncheons, grand openings, media tours, trade shows, etc.
  • Monitor coverage, track outreach and build results reports
  • Bring researched ideas to brainstorms

Where This Role Can Lead

Ghidotti has a written career path, and we invest in the people who grow with us. Because we train across every service area, you will build a broad foundation first, learn what you are best at and then choose where to go deeper as you advance toward Account Executive and beyond.
