My friend, Ken Clark, and I met in our Vistage executive group and became fast friends. I have gotten to know Ken, and have so appreciated his insights into life and work. He is the leader of a super successful and GROWING therapy practice, an Arkansas Business of the Year winner and named one of America’s fastest-growing companies by Inc. Magazine. Basically, Ken is a rockstar.
But what I appreciate most about him is his willingness and amazing talent to truly help people through crisis in their life. As a CEO and a therapist, you can imagine at this time, Ken is a busy guy. Not only does he oversee 15 locations and hundreds of employees, but he also still sees clients. Most of his clients are high-powered executives like Ken – people who are feeling some serious pressure right now as their businesses are closed, experiencing declining sales and losing valuable team members. So many people in the world right now are facing crisis and trauma at levels we haven’t seen in a very long time.
So as Ken does, he contemplates deep thoughts late at night. I mean, possibly, Jack Handey-esque Deep Thoughts, but also some really, really good ones.
Ken told me how he teaches his clients about the power of gratitude to conquer our fears and how a daily practice of being thankful can change how we think, what we say and how we do things in our life.
He mentioned the idea of a 30-day gratitude challenge in the midst of COVID chaos, and I knew I wanted to be a part of whatever he was thinking.
So here we are. Ken and my amazing team at Ghidotti launched The Thanks A Billion Project, and I couldn’t be more thrilled. I have so much to be thankful for, and first up is the team that put this together. Ken, Joshua Cook, Bethany Siems, Zach Parker and I have been texting, emailing, Slacking and calling each other night and day to get this up and out to the world quickly while people need it most. We feel passionate that a life of gratitude and a daily nod to something or someone in our lives that makes us better people is the key to turning the tide in the midst of chaos.
Please watch the videos, read the corresponding blog posts, sign up for the daily emails, follow us on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube … and, most importantly, participate in thanking at least one person in your life every day for the next 30 days! You’ll be amazed at what it does to your brain, your disposition, your productivity and your health.
Because gratitude INDEED conquers fear!
