Last Thursday, CEO Natalie Ghidotti and Director of Content Marketing Sandra McGrew attended the Public Relations Society of America Silver Anvil Awards in New York City recognizing excellence in public relations across the country.
We came away with a coveted Silver Anvil Award – the top award in the industry – in the category of “Integrated Communications” for our recruitment campaign we launched last year for the Little Rock Police Department. The campaign was a multimedia recruitment campaign based on qualitative research that attracted qualified applicants, particularly women and minority candidates.
Since 1944, the Silver Anvil – which symbolizes the forging of public opinion – has been annually awarded to organizations that have successfully addressed contemporary issues with exemplary professional skill, creativity and resourcefulness. Silver Anvil Awards recognize complete programs that incorporate sound insights and analysis, planning, execution and evaluation. They must meet the highest standards of performance in the profession.
Major thanks to Jay Cranford and his team at Cranford Co. who were our partners on bringing this campaign to life – especially through the awesome video work they did. And thanks to Stacey Jones with Ariel Strategic, who conducted the focus groups with your officers to help us bring to life a theme that resonates with your force. The research she did definitely set us up for a winning campaign.
Because of this focused campaign, the recruitment of women and minorities is currently at an all-time high for the LRPD, with the two recruiting classes that followed the campaign launch comprising 63 percent and 100 percent, respectfully, of women and minority recruits.
